Cop#1: bikes a little loud don't you think?
Cop#2: are you in a gang?
Cop#1: license, registration and proof of insurance.
Me: i don't have anything, it fell out of my pouch.
Cop#1: have a seat on the curb......
I guess the Orange PD has nothing better to do on a Saturday night because it took 5 police cars to surround me and 6 officers to keep an eye on me. And as we're sitting there, dozens of MC looking guys ride by on bikes way louder than mine and they just stand there and watch them go by and one cop has the audacity to say "if you were a little smarter you woulda let those guys go first hahahaa"....really? fuck you.
I'm not going to go on a police rant because I personally know some good guys out there but man, all it takes is one asshole to change your view on all of them.
So now instead of riding today, I have to try and get my bike out of impound.
Bad way to end a good day.

If you've ever heard the name Dick Allen or are familiar with Southern California chopper folklore then you've probably heard of Joe Hurst. Bikes like "White Bear" and the "Hustler" are just a couple of early influential choppers he built in the late 60's/early 70's.
We met Joe at Born Free after he approached Nick (while wearing his bootleg Dick Allen products hat) and said "Dick Allen was my best friend" .
Aww man, busted...this guys so bummed on us right now.
Turns out he's actually pretty stoked on what we're up to and invited us to hang out at his house the other night to check out one of Dick Allens old choppers that he's restoring as a tribute to his long time friend. After awhile we kind of just sat back and listened to some tall tales of chopper glory (you know, the kind of stuff you dream about) for the rest of the night. The last thing Joe said before we left is "you have a Fuddruckers by your house huh? I love that place. Next time I'm gonna come to your house and we can grab a burger!" ....oh yeah, he's totally on the team.
I remember telling Nick on the way home that it will never be as epic as the good ol' days and he snapped back "dude, we're living it right now....do you think those guys thought these would be the stories they'd be telling for the rest of their lives?" He couldn't have been more right. We're having fun, thats all that matters.

Mike was kind enough to send me a copy of the first issue and it did not disappoint. You can't go wrong with bikes, beards, boobies and boners......
My good pal Michael Schmidt did the cover amongst other things throughout the new Dice. I still think he should stick to taking photos of half naked super models instead of fat dudes with beards. What the hell is wrong with him.
You know the drill.

My buddy Travis is running out of room and needs to thin the herd.
Its a 64 E100 shorty with a freshly transplanted 289 V8/C4 auto so you can keep up with your friends.
The hard stuffs done all you got to do is paint it and tell everyone you built it.
If yer interested, get at him...

Me and the guys took a little run through the canyons this morning and ended up going a little off trail to check the water in the swimming hole. Besides me pissing oil, throwing chains and dropping phones we've all got our bikes up and running good at the same time for the first time in a while.
I think this is going to be a good summer.
