with or without..

I posted a shot of this preunit awhile ago hanging out by a pool.
Heres another pic of it with drag bars and the front fairing.
It belonged to the grandfather of one of Nicks friends, she said
he had died awhile ago but just sold the bike recently, i'm sure for just pennies too.

Lucky bastard whoever got it..

hmm....

Today while getting ready to go to work I hear some commotion out side of my house and take a look only to find there's an Escalade hearse parked in my driveway.

There's about 20 people standing around and pulling flowers out of it....weird, but not too weird because I'm assuming they just got back from a funeral.

So I'm pacing aroung because I got to go to work and don't want to interrupt whatever is going down so i wait a minute, take another look, and now their pulling out a coffin and walking it to the backyard!!!

Are you kidding?......

By now, everyones in the backyard I'm thinking I can squeeze out without bothering their gig. The driver of the hearse comes out and offers to move his car, i tell him he can pull right back in if he needs to after i leave and he says "Nah, its okay. I'm just dropping off, I'll be back tomorrow"......really?

Now I've got a dead guy sitting in my neighbors backyard on top of their BBQ table.

peg-less wizardry...

My friend Eddie from SF came down for a visit and hooked me up with this killer tank. Chicks on steriods with firearms....ahhh, bliss.

He's putting together an ironhead with some of that frisco flavor.
Hope to see this thing on the road soon.

skateboarding...

Snapped this picture a 2 years ago camping at Pismo beach with my two younger brothers. We took a little coastal skate road trip up to Oregon and back hitting as many parks and spots as we could handle. Most fun i'd had in a while.
Saw this pic scrolling through the computer and was taken back. I've had an imaginary knee problem thats slowed me down a little lately but really, it all comes down to me being a pussy and not trying. i gotta change that..

BF3 bound...

Mike and Grant over at Born Free headquarters have graciously allowed me to play with the big boys and participate in the guest builders area of BF3. Kind of a big deal to me because (1) I'm nobody (2) I think this show is without a doubt the best and biggest thing going on in America as far as the vintage chopper thing is concerned...see what i mean, big deal. And if you've been to the first two shows, you'd know how humbling it is.

So i've been fortunate enough to rustle up some knucklehead parts and have started doing the mock-up game playing with ideas - stance, wheels, short, long, high, low...all that. Pretty sure the end result will look nothing like the picture. The only thing i will guarantee is that there will be no airplanes glued to an aircraft carrier shaped gas tank.

well, maybe..

Blackstar Canyon...

Blackstar Falls and Nick. He looks tiny next to it, and he's 6'2" and weighs about 400lbs.

Blackstar is a place of legends here in Orange County. Satanic cult sacrifices, the ghosts of massacred indians, elves, witches pretty much anything you can think of "happens" here. I've never experienced anything out of the ordinary but growing up hearing the tales, no doubt it's a little eerie. All i know is there is some good hiking and bitchin waterfalls deep in the canyon. And since it's been raining so much, i knew there'd be some good water flow so thats what we did today.

One thing i trip out on is when i talk to people who've never been here or just checked things out in the local mountains (especially because it's only 15 minutes away from anywhere here) maybe it's because me and my brothers explored this area so much as kids with our old man and it seems so second nature to me. Whatever the deal, people just need to get out more often and explore whats right in there backyard.
