Spotted this stallion today while cruising with the Van Creep. Kidney beans, black rattle can squirt job, and diamond pleated with red button lining. Wish I would have gotten a photo of the inside, I just got scared some boracho was gonna come out and stomp me for perpetratin' his wheels!

There was a night race in Barstow last night. Marvin suggested that Craig and I take his race truck out to "cruise" around in since he couldn't go. And seeing that Craig just sold his truck to pay for his new hobby of being unemployed, we quickly said yes. Not many people would entrust something that is worth the same amount of money as a small house to anyone and then give them the green light to beat the hell out of it. Marvin is different. He has the "whats the worst that can happen, you break it?" attitude.
We met up with our friends Ross, Phil and Dustin who were pitting for Josh and his class 16 buggy. Since our truck was faster than most of the cars racing we offered to help pit and run parts.
Issue 1 - top end shits the bed. Overhaul and back on the road.
Issue 2 - CV boot shredded. wrapped it up, see you in 6 miles.
Boot repair couldn't hang. put a fork in it.
Kinda sucked not to finish but fun was had and there will always be another race.
The rest of the night was kind of a blur consisting of breaking into a jacuzzi, getting solicited by some white kid/pimp in a wheelchair trying to slang a couple girls on us, some partial nudity and me waking up in a lounge chair next to the hotels courtyard pool......good times.

Davey and Yoshi
The terms "ruler" and "stand-up guy" get tossed around loosely these days. Both are phrases I rarely use because they really only apply to a small handful of people I know. I think Davey falls into that catergory. Humble and reserved he's just doing his thing. A regular guy supporting his family, and trying to be apart of this chomper epidemic when time and money permit.
We cruised up to his house in Fontana to pick up a radiator for the Econoline and started talking about his family and looking through some of the countless photos from the late 50's through the 60's. Infamous photos you've seen on all the blogs of his grandma and grandpa, pops and uncles bikes. I was shaking holding those photos in my hands just knowing that right here in my hands is where it all began. Some of the pioneers of a lifestyle most of us strive to emulate (but never will) doing things for the first time just to see where they could take it. Some take all this too seriously, some take it for granted and some for the wrong reasons entirely but moments like this remind me of why I do it. I love the past, and love learning, not knowing. Once you know everything or have everything, then what? The future will come and when it does I probably won't be ready, but thats okay because i like surprises.
Davey, if there was a team, you'd be on it. Thanks for sharing the photos with me and I cant wait to meet your Grandma.

Made this mid-sissy bar for CZ George. He saw all the big kids carrying contraband around on their chompers and wanted in......don't blame him. Now he has something to strap his bedroll to on those adventurous journeys to the grocery store. I too long for the open road but end up in the closed garage most the time. Had to test it out so i jammed through the canyon for a minute, hope you don't mind.
