Michael Schmidt
I've been talking with Michael for a while now about coming by, hanging out and snapping some pics for the boys over at DICE. He used to be an architect but quit to pursue his passion, photography. Thats a pretty big leap considering that most would consider that career suicide. Well now he shoots for some of the biggest modeling agencies in the world and travels all over for it too, not bad.
I respect people who follow their hearts rather than follow the leader.
Check out his stuff, pretty killer.

t-boner
T-BONE has been building this beast after hours for a little while now and today he brought it out for the first time to the David Mann show today.
I had seen this bike in it's early stages and have been sitting on a bunch of spy shots for a while wanting to post them but waited patiently for him to finish it.
Well the cats outta the bag, and this thing is pretty nuts. It really is a cool blend of new school reliability and old school badass-ery styling and that paint, whoa...flashback.
Oh yeah, did i mention it's for his MOM!!!

keep it clean.
My buddy Kenny has been machining parts for bicycles and guns for years. He's only 25 but he has such a scientific and thorough approach to everything he does that you'd think he was 50.
Every once in a while he talks about building a motorcycle, if he actually pulls the trigger i could only imagine it'll end up being something super dialed...
...and completely assembled with a 6mm allen wrench.

noise
I met T-Bone a while ago when he was building this bike...slightly ahead of its time i thought. i was never really into the modern sport/chopper thing, i just didn't get it. This bike kinda changed my view on them. I definately lean towards old style chompers but I also dig and appreciate anything badass thats been tweaked and handcrafted.
He's been laying low for a while but he's still doing his thing. In fact, i've seen some sneak peaks and don't worry he'll be blowing minds in the very near future, trust me.
reppin ATR back in the day.

wow
I was blog surfing the other day when i stumbled upon these pics of Mark Drew's pre-unit on its way to Japan on the Chopped Out blog and its been haunting me since. Everytime i think about a motorcycle that bike pops up in my head.
I can't shake it.
It is a straight time machine from a 60's bike show. Everything looks so perfect, all that chrome, the wheel combo and stance, the tank & bars.....mind blower. I can't wait for the day i get to see it in person.

todays highlights
Started off strong. Shoving a screwdriver into the base of your fingernail is not as cool as it sounds...
Since Matt and I were working out in Victorville, I decided we should hike to Deep Creek after work and relax in the hot springs till the sun went down. I've been coming here for years and have seen some crazy shit go down. This was Matts first time, i don't think he was ready for the old hippys walking around that place butt naked....i could see the fear in his eyes.
Nothing like seeing a couple as old as your Grandparents literally "hanging out" all over the place.

a love story...
My dad and his best friend at the time took a bus from Minnesota to California when they were 19, sometime in the summer of 1976. They hitch-hiked up and down the coast the rest of that year before finally settling in Anaheim.
One of the first vehicles my dad ever owned once he was here was a beat up old Honda CB 750, kind of a pile but it got him around town just fine. Around that time my parents started hanging out.
On their first date my dad rode the Honda to my moms place cause he wanted to show her how badass he was. Later on in the day when he was leaving he got on the Honda and started it up, all the while looking back at my mom on her porch.
don't blow it..
He tried to take off from the side of the street but he was so sidetracked by trying to look cool that he forgot to unlock the steering lock, making him frontflip into the middle of the street while his bike slammed to the ground right next to him.
Should have been a dealbreaker but my mom thought otherwise and has stuck by his clumsy side ever since.
